How much will my shutters cost?
Shutter cost is calculated on size and number of windows or doors requiring shutters. We can provide a cost estimate over phone using the dimensions and a photograph of the window. Other factors such as finish, design and materials are also a factor however your consultant will be able to guide you through the process.

How long will it take for my glazing and bi-folds to arrive?
Windows and doors have lead times of 4-5 weeks and we aim to fit within a week of arrival.

For more complex installations that require a building team we will provide time estimates as part of your quotation.

What are the payment
terms?
We will come to your home to provide an initial free quote with no obligation. On order confirmation we required a 50% up front fee with the remaining 50% collected 24 hrs ahead of your installation appointment.

Cash, credit and debit cards are also accepted (excluding American Express). If you would prefer to make a bank transfer via phone or online please contact our office.

How much will my glazing cost?
Due to the variety of glazing options for a simple supply and install and that other teams will need to estimate for any steel, foundation and brickwork
we would require a home appointment ahead of providing a quotation.
We aim for our consultants to be with you within a week of your enquiry.

Our shutters are made to measure, so we are confident we will be able to find a solution the works for you.
Shutters can be fixed in a range of ways to get around tight gaps, uneven walls and strange window openings.

How long will it take for my shutters to arrive?
As your shutters are made to order specifically for your home our standard lead times are around 8-10 weeks (Covid and Brexit are sometimes impacting this). We aim to fit within a few days of receipt to the workshop.

Who will install my

What 's the best style of plantation shutters?

What is the best material for shutters?
Choosing the best material for your plantation shutters is largely dependant on the room requirements and budget.
UPVC is a waterproof material. This makes uPVC the perfect material choice for plantation shutters in rooms with moisture or heat such as kitchens and bathrooms. Traditional wooden or composite materials can bow or warp if exposed to these elements. UPVC shutters are designed to match and blend with traditional wooden shutters.

Wooden Shutters have a large range of options;
MDF (medium density fibre) with is made from a fine wooden dust and shaped with glue to form the desired shape.
Composite wood materials formed using multiple wood species.
Hardwood, where the shutters are made from solid wood.

MDF can offer a marginally cheaper price however is not as long lasting as other wood options, hardwood is the premium material for plantation style shutters given its durability, flexibility, and strength. Because of this Sleek Shutters and Glazing only provide hardwood as standard.
We work with sustainable hardwoods such as paulownia and basswood this is a lightweight hardwood that can be sanded, stained, or sprayed to the desired effect.
Aluminium, security plantation shutters are also an option where added security is required. lockable and extremely durable this material provides extra peace of mind, keeping your home safe.

Can you have shutters for windows that open inwards?
It is possible to have shutters for windows that open inwards. There are a number of work arounds and solutions to installing shutters to windows of this style. A member of the team will be able to walk you through these and discuss your options.

How do I measure my window for shutters?
Sleek Shutters and Glazing can provide a same day cost estimate for your shutters. Just send us the dimensions and a photo and we will send you a quote. There may be small adjustments if you choose additional options such as blackout or colour matching services, but we pride ourselves on being pretty accurate!

With standard windows it is simply the case of taking the height and width measurements to the edge of the window frame or window reveal.
For bay windows, it is simply a case of starting from the left and working across. Take the measurement from the outer edge of the frame to the next angle or cut line of the next frame. Repeat for the middle pane and the final right pane. To measure the height, measure from the windowsill to the top of the window frame or top reveal.
